David Carson

(AKA "Bushdog")

Born in Zimbabwe, David grew up in Bulawayo the second largest city. After school he was lucky enough to find his chosen profession by chance and embarked on becoming a Professional Guide. Zimbabwe has the most rigorous wilderness guide training on the continent and the few that successfully complete the four years and obtain their Professional Guides License are well-versed in botany, zoology, ornithology, entomology, current world affairs, tracking, and the ability to come up with a plan for almost any problem encountered in the bush. If you ask him he will tell you that it was the greatest four years, as there where many adventures and a life time of stories.

David now spends almost all of his time guiding safaris into remote areas that he considers his back yard. In Southern Africa this encompasses Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe, and Moremi, Savuti, Central Kalahari, Nxai Pan and Chobe in Botswana.

In East Africa he has guided trips to Tanzania, to see the wonder that is the Ngorogoro Crater and the migration in the Serengeti.

Dave's great love of his country is infectious and his wonderful sense of humour for even the most harrowing experiences will have you hanging on every word. His passion for getting out on foot is in insatiable and be warned if the Rhino track is fresh take a lot of water, you could be out a while!

In 1998 David took time out from guiding to join up with a group of friends and paddle from the source of the Zambezi to the sea. The objective was to raise money for land mine victims in Mozambique and it was a great success. The Expedition was great fun and make for some great fire side stories.

Antonette Carson

Antonette Carson has been in Tourism since 1995. She has had a lot of varied experiences in this field working in reservations, stores and logistics for various large companies in Victoria Falls.

It was a natural leap for her to take over the reservations and logistics of Kazuma Trails in 2002. Antonette is the person who will finalise your bookings as well as make sure that all the behind scenes go according to plan with the supplies and safari back-up logistics.

Kazuma Trails could not operate such successful safari trips if it was not for the hard working, dedicated staff who are constantly at work behind the scenes to do everything required for the comfort of the guests. From cleaning and erecting tents to cooking scrumptious meals.
